Issue #001: Launchpad
Launching on Product Hunt, a huge thank you and this week's design roundup.
Hey Handhelders,
Glad to see you all here for our first issue on the Handheld Design newsletter - the place where you’ll find a curated collection of the finest mobile design inspiration!
We need to start off with a huge thank you to all of you that checked us out at handheld.design since launch! We’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback which has been great to see.
We are fully committed to keep Handheld Design the one stop place to find the best mobile design inspiration on the internet.
Let us know what you like about the site and any improvements you feel are needed to optimise and we will be sure to listen!
We launched on Product Hunt!
We are officially live on Product Hunt! It’s been such a pleasure to share our project with everyone and even more amazing with the feedback we’ve received so far. Thank you for all your support on Handheld.
The stars of the show…
New button by Mohit
You can definitely see what caught our attention — that button! In the midst of skeuomorphism coming back into the fold, Mohit gave us the best of the best with the famous ‘aqua button’ from Mac OS X. Great work, Mohit!
Gym program by Justin Farrugia
Justin is known for putting out consistent, well-crafted screens together for mobile and this one is no exception. The calm colour tone for an app category that notoriously stays within the shadows is totally refreshing!
Investment app by Konolee
Given how serious personal finances can be, Konolee adds a unique but functional take on fintech mobile applications. The extra-large buttons draw attention for all the right reasons!
Onboarding by Hanif
We appreciate great technical skills to put great screens together at Handheld and Hanif ticks the boxes for all the criteria! The colour choices, composition and text sizes all seem like very simple choices but are far from for the average designer.
Konnect by Inthi Karb
If you ever needed an app for your network, you’d wish it was this one! The use of colours and gradients from Inthi is admirable and brings a wave of fresh air to the network space.
Mobile gaming streams by Meta Carbon
You can see why this is here, can’t you? An amazing use of a pixelated typeface from Meta Carbon here that completely leans into the subject matter. Having the guts to experiment will always give you extra points!
Finance app by Godwin Ebri
This struck our attention by the intriguing orientation of the card and button layout that we aren’t normally accustomed too, but strongly think, we should be. Great thinking, Godwin!
That’s a wrap!
Thank you for following the Handheld journey with us and reading this article. We are working tirelessly to get more mobile design inspiration out to you weekly — so see you next week!
